Isle Of Wight Festival 2016: Get To Know The Acts!
As always, the Isle Of Wight Festival is offering up a serious amount of musical talent this year, with the 2016 line-up featuring huge well-known acts like The Who, as well as smaller names like Everything Everything.
If you have a penchant for eclectic indie and classic rock, there is nowhere else in the world that you should be between the 9th and the 12th June this year, other than the famous Seaclose Park on the Isle Of Wight!
If you cannot wait to pitch up your tent at IOW ’16, you’ll be glad to hear that we’ve put together some act-facts for 6 of the headline bands to really get you in the mood for festival season!
Let’s Meet The Bands…

This legendary act doesn’t need much introduction! Formerly fronted by the late Freddie Mercury, this British rock band has been making memorable music since the 1970’s and have had a whopping 18 number one albums!
With a wealth of sing-along songs including Bohemian Rhapsody (1975), Another One Bites The Dust (1980) and We Are The Champions (1977) Queen have a reputation for providing a mesmerising live performance. Though there are only two existing members of the band, Queen will be playing the Isle Of Wight Festival accompanied by their touring musicians and guest star Adam Lambert; so you can rest assured they WILL ROCK YOU!
This year won’t be the first time Queen have performed with Adam Lambert, the band have worked with him several times before including at the Hammersmith Apollo, Ukraine and Moscow’s Olympic Stadium in 2012. Lambert also featured in the band’s act at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas back in 2013, so you can expect a flawless performance at Isle Of Wight this year!
If you’re umming and ahhing about attending the IOW festival, this act could well be the one that swings it for you, after all, it doesn’t get much bigger than Queen!

Another big name on the Isle Of Wight’s festival line-up this year is undoubtedly The Who! With an impressive CV of more than 30 albums to their name as well as over 100 million records sold worldwide, this English rock band has had a busy 52 years on the music scene!
These guys have a worldwide reputation for great music and have often been referred to as one of the most influential rock bands of the 20th century. With memorable songs like My Generation (1965), Pinball Wizard (1965) and Who Are You (1978) this band are sure to give a truly rocking performance at IOW ’16.
If you’re already downloading music by The Who to get you in the festival spirit, make sure you check out the fantastic Quadrophenia (1979), which is a film adaptation of one of The Who‘s most famous songs and really encapsulates the spirit of the mods and rockers at the time!

One of the most interesting acts to perform at the Isle Of Wight festival this year has got to be drum & bass masters Pendulum. The great thing about these guys is that they have expertly walked the line between alternative music fans and more mainstream music fans ever since their formation back in 2002.
With roots in drum and bass as well as electronic rock, this Australian born act relocated to the UK in 2013. After a short break from performing, Pendulum excited fans by appearing live again at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Florida earlier this year along with Knife Party and Deadmau5. So catch them in their glorious return to the festival scene this summer!
With such a widespread appeal, this genre-defying band is sure to be a huge hit at IOW ’16 and their classic tracks including Watercolour (2010), Witchcraft (2010) and Propane Nightmares (2008) are guaranteed to get the crowd stomping their feet!

This act that has got us really excited about Isle Of Wight festival 2016! Formed by former Mtley Cre bassist, Nikki Sixx, this Californian hard rock band are known for their sick riffs and powerful stage presence!
With an impressive four studio albums, their newest of which, Prayers For The Damned, released earlier this year, now is the perfect time to check these guys out. Another interesting act-fact is that their band name was created using an amalgamation of all the original member’s last names, Nikki Sixx, Ashba & Michael.
With a series of catchy rocking tunes like Stars (2014) , Life Is Beautiful (2008) and This Is Gonna Hurt (2011), these guys have really taken the classic hard rock style and made it their own. If you’re a fan of music that makes you want to run to the mosh pit, Sixx:A.M. are a must-watch!

One of the newer acts to perform at this year’s Isle Of Wight festival is Blossoms, an Indie pop band from Stockport in Manchester.
This indie band has their own distinct sound and have been quickly growing in popularity, particularly after appearing in Radio One’s Live Lounge earlier this year. If you haven’t listened to them yet, be sure to check out some of their songs like At Most A Kiss (2016), Getaway (2016) and Charlemagne (2016).
These guys earned themselves a well-deserved 4th place on the BBC’s Sound Of New Music List 2016 and their first album Blossoms is due to be released at the end of summer, so jump on the musical band wagon and celebrate their rising success by supporting them at Isle Of Wight 2016!

Another Indie act to look out for in this year’s Isle Of Wight festival lineup is Everything Everything, an eclectic band with a style all of their own.
With three album releases under their belt, as well as being winners of The Times Breakthrough Award 2009 and Music Producers Guild Awards 2014, these boys are going up-and-up!
What we love about Everything Everything is their unpredictable and incredibly unique sound. With rich rhythms, influences from all music genres including R’n’B and Jonathon Higgs falsetto lyrics, these songs really are masterpieces.
If you’re yet to check out Everything Everything‘s unique sound, make a start with songs like Distant Past (2015), Cough Cough (2013) and No Reptiles (2015), which are sure to get you in the mood for singing along at IOW’16!
