The Canine bites piercing combines the popular snake bites and angel bites piercings to create one aesthetically stunning lip piercing combo. This lip piercing configuration places two piercings above the top lip and two below the bottom lip, for perfect symmetry. Many people choose to have labrets in the top piercings and hoops in the bottom piercings, once their canine bites piercing has fully healed. Want to learn more about canine piercing? Check out more info with our FAQs, below.

Where is a canine bite piercing?

The canine bite piercing is placed above the top lip and below the bottom lip and consists of four piercings. The canine piercing gets its name because the piercings are placed over the canine teeth. It is a combination of angel bites and snake bites. The symmetrical piercing is placed near to the corners of the mouth.

Do canine bite piercings hurt?

Canine bite piercings do hurt but no more than any other lip piercings. However, you will be getting four piercings done in one sitting which can make it feel more painful because the piercing procedure will last for longer. You may find that your canine bite piercings hurt after they have been done. This is usually because the piercing site becomes swollen which is increased because there are four piercings.

What should I eat after getting a canine bites piercing?

You will need to be careful when eating after getting your canine bites piercing. After any lip piercing, you should eat soft cold foods to help reduce swelling and avoid irritating your new piercing wound. After getting a canine bites piercing avoid spicy and sticky foods, including chewing gum. Spicy foods can slow down healing and sticky foods can get stuck around the piercing jewellery.

What can I drink after a canine piercing?

After your canine piercing, you should drink cool water to help reduce swelling. You can also suck on an ice cube or water ice lolly to help soothe your mouth. Avoid alcohol and carbonated drinks during the initial healing period as these can cause the piercing wound to re-open and can slow down healing. Some people prefer to avoid milk while their piercing is healing. Make sure to regularly use an alcohol-free and PH-neutral mouthwash to help remove any food and drink debris.

How much is a canine bite piercing?

A canine bite piercing costs an average of £100 - £110. You will be getting four piercings in one so the price will reflect this. How much the canine piercing costs may also depend on the piercing jewellery you choose. We always recommend paying the price for high quality piercing jewellery as this can help your piercing to heal. It is important to go to an experienced piercer to do your canine bite piercings as the placement is important. The piercings need to be symmetrical to achieve the desired aesthetic of this piercing.

How does a canine bite piercing work?

The canine bite piercing works by placing four labret piercings in four positions by the lip. This piercing is a combination of angel bites and snake bites which are placed above and below the lips. This piercing configuration gives a symmetrical aesthetic and is placed over the canine teeth, hence the name. This does mean you will need to make sure the piercing jewellery does not catch on your teeth as the piercing bar will go through from the outside of the lip to the inner mouth.

Do you have to get all the piercings at once for canine bites?

It is possible to get all four canine bites piercings in one sitting however some piercers recommend waiting between the piercings to allow any swelling to reduce in between. Waiting for each canine bite piercing to heal can make it easier to take care of your new piercing. You can either have one at a time or get the snake bites piercing and angel bites piercing in two separate sittings.

Lip piercing names can make it confusing since canine bites are made up of angel bites and snake bites which are in turn made up of different types of lip piercing. The final configuration of the four piercings is called Canine bite piercing.
