Make sure to check the Prince Albert piercing age restriction before coming to store. It can help to avoid any undue disappointment. In a Blue Banana studio, the Prince Albert piercing age restriction is 21 where ID is a requirement. This is the same in England and Wales.
Once you’re all booked in, you will have some forms to fill out. A member of Blue Banana staff will go through the steps and can help you pick out jewellery. Then you can meet the piercer! They too will give you a quick consultation and briefing before discussing the Prince Albert piercing location. For the safety of you and the piercer, another member of staff will be present in the room during your piercing procedure.
Prince Albert piercings are usually pierced with a BCR and can be changed later to a ring, curved barbell, or circular barbell. Your piercer will pass a needle through the piercing site and then insert the jewellery. You will have the chance to check you are happy with the location before the piercer starts the procedure.
During the healing process, it is important to avoid knocking the piercing or putting pressure on the area as this will slow down healing and can even cause unnecessary problems. During the healing process, wear loose clothing to prevent the piercing from being rubbed or caught, do not go swimming or participate in any other water-based activity including hot tubs, and refrain from sexual activities for at least 2 weeks.
When cleaning your Prince Albert piercing, make sure to wash your hands with antibacterial soap before touching your piercing. Gently clean your Prince Albert piercing twice a day with salt water solution or Tea Tree Oil by bathing it using cotton wool or by submerging your piercing into a cup of saltwater.
