Choosing new Prince Albert jewellery? Don’t worry; we’re here to help.

The placement of a Prince Albert Piercing means that there are four main types of jewellery commonly used. These are ball closure rings (BCRs), curved barbells and circular bar bells, as there curved shape perfectly fits the position of the piercings entrance and exit points.

The final kind of PA piercing jewellery is the Prince Albert Wand, which consist of hollow tube place directly down the urethra. Other types of piercing jewellery such as smooth segment rings also make excellent Prince Albert jewellery.

Jewellery

All of pieces of Prince Albert jewellery should be at least 2mm, though 2.4 or more is often recommended.

Your first piece of Prince Albert jewellery will be a titanium ball closure ring, however once completely healed you can change it for other PA ring styles or a barbell.

The best kind of BCR to use as Prince Albert jewellery have screw in balls rather than clip in, these are more secure so you don’t have to worry about any unwanted slippage or pinching.

When your PA piercing is fully healed you can change your titanium ball closure ring for a curved or circular barbell if you wish. Prince Albert bars are curved barbells or banana bells.  It is important to select a ball size that will not slip back into the urethra as this can be very uncomfortable, though it is only likely to happen during exercise or similar physical activity.

A circular barbell will fit very similarly to the BCR and like the other pieces of curved Prince Albert Jewellery are comfortable to wear for all normal everyday activities.

Prince Albert wands are the final type of jewellery used in a PA piercing, though these are much more invasive than the three covered here and we recommend you only wear these occasionally and in a fully healed piercing.

This piece of Prince Albert jewellery consists of a hollow tube placed down the urethra and a leg placed perpendicularly towards the end of the wand that goes through the piercing hole on the underside of the shaft.

Often use of a sounding wand is needed before you can comfortably insert a Prince Albert wand to stretch the urethra.  PA wands are the least comfortable piece of Prince Albert jewellery for everyday wear, but are very popular for use in the bedroom.
