It's that time of year again, Download 2016 is just around the corner. Excited yet? We are.

Download Festival takes over Donnington Park on the 10th June. Thousands will be attending for 3 days of Rock, Metal, Punk & Hardcore. You can join them too, tickets are still available from the official Download website.

Here's our Download Festival Essentials guide. Hopefully you'll find it useful, whether you're wondering what to take to Download Festival or you need to know the lineup, we've got it covered.

Wondering what to wear to Download Festival?

Don't sweat it, we're here to help.

First of all Download is a rock and metal festival, so you should wear whatever you wear when you go to shows - jeans, t shirts, y'know. We would advise a few added extras though:

  • Comfy Footwear - Being on your feet for 12+ hours watching bands is tiring, and your feet are gonna hurt if you don't treat yourself to something comfortable to wear.
  • Wellies - You're going to be outside. A lot. And it's the UK so there's always a chance of rain, better to be prepared
  • A Rain Poncho - Like we said, it could rain, a compact poncho is a lifesaver.
  • Spare Socks - Always, always bring spare socks. More than you think you need.
  • Trousers & Shorts - The weather seems like a bit of a running theme doesn't it. There's also a chance it'll be nice and sunny, you don't wanna stuck in hot, heavy jeans if the suns out!
