Top 10 Rock and Metal Tours Heading To The UK In 2017!
The past weeks have been a blast for rock and metal fans with announcements of huge rock and metal tours! Even next year’s Download headliners have been officially announced! Next year’s music scene is set to be the heaviest yet with many big names touring. Fortunately for us, plenty of them are stopping off in the UK! Here are some of the biggest rock and metal tours that are heading to UK shores next year!
Avenged Sevenfold (January 2017)
If you thought that 2017 was going to kick-off quietly then think again! Heavy metal icons Avenged Sevenfold are sweeping the UK during the start of 2017. They even have two huge dates booked in the London O2 Arena. Their rock and metal tour will be jammed with new hits from their latest album ‘The Stage’ as well as plenty of well-known classics! If one big name wasn’t enough, A7X are being supported by BOTH Disturbed and In Flames. Disturbed are impressive additions with plenty of famous hits such as ‘Down With Sickness’ and now have the chilling ‘Sound of Silence’ cover to add to their setlist. Any of these dates are sure to be a loud blast of heavy metal monstrosity; it’ll be one not to miss!
The Dillinger Escape Plan (January 2017)
Fresh off of their huge Reading Festival 2016 appearance this year, The Dillinger Escape Plan is set to be back in the UK at the start of next year with eight dates announced across the UK. The famous ‘mathcore’ band is well-practiced in putting on a huge show. The band is fresh off the latest release of Dissociation, their sixth studio album. However, sad news for all DEP fans, as the band has announced a split will follow their next tour. If you’re UK based and dying to see The Dillinger Escape Plan, it is literally now or never!
Black Sabbath (January-February 2017)
The heralded end of the Black Sabbath era, fortunately, extended past the concluding Download 2016 performance and the rock and metal tour now continues into the start of 2017. Front man and rock legend Ozzy Osbourne will be back with Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler once more for yet another UK farewell to The End tour. Even if you’re an old-time rocker or a metal novice, it’s time to see the fathers of metal before it’s too late! It only takes one blast of the War Pigs intro and to be taken away by the darkness that is Black Sabbath!
Trivium (February 2017)
The hugely successful heavy metal band is back in the UK for yet another rock and metal tour. The band has seven studio albums in its collection and there’s a guarantee that Trivium’s shows are going to be LOUD! The band has six dates announced across the UK and Ireland, which will see them pass through the big cities such as London and Manchester. If your thrash metal and metalcore loud then how far wrong can you go with a huge performance band such a Trivium? Their rock and metal tour is certainly one to consider!
Apocalyptica (February – March 2017)
The once Metallica tribute band will be sweeping across the globe during the spring of 2017, and are set to be bringing their rock and metal tour to the UK for three dates! The Finnish neoclassical metal band somehow manages to create rocking tunes by using cellos instead of conventional guitars. A performance by Apocalyptica is certain to be unlike any of live music performance that you’ve ever seen, which is why we are making their UK performances one of next year’s rock and metal tours to look out for!
The Who (March-April 2017)
The legendary rock band is back with their ‘Tommy and More’ 2017 tour. Frontman Roger Daltrey and lead guitarist Pete Townshend are still flying the flag for what remains of the iconic 60s line-up. With classics such as ‘My Generation’ and ‘Baba O’Reilly’, The Who has a load of iconic tunes to release on some of the largest UK venues. Their tour opens in The Royal Albert Hall for two nights during late May and concludes in the Birmingham Barclay Card Arena which tickets definitely worth getting your hands on!
Parkway Drive (April 2017)
The Australian metal band is set to storm the UK with their storming metalcore style music. The band is currently sitting on four albums of ear-popping material that is sure to light up their entire list of European venues. They will be touring the UK with fellow Aussie band Thy Art Is Murder as well being joined by Bury Tomorrow for the UK leg of the rock and metal tour. Their most recent single ‘Devil’s Calling’ will surely be heading up a loud and proud new UK set list during the beginning months of 2017!
Iron Maiden (May 2017)
The hugely popular Book of Souls Tour is swinging round the UK one more time! The May-based tour will be supported by Shinedown. The iconic Iron Maiden are veterans when it comes to rock and metal tours. They well and truly know how to put on a good show! They are a band gifted with many famous and well-known songs that will be played louder than you’ll have ever heard it before! Well-versed metal fans will gush about the brilliance of Maiden and they’re not wrong! These performances will be a killer show for all and, we’ve said this a lot but, this is definitely one of the rock and metal tours of 2017 that you simply CANNOT miss!
Deftones (May 2017)
The famous alternative metal band is back with a global tour of their latest album ‘Gore’. One of the legendary bands of the heavy genre, Deftones now has eight albums to their name. The band clearly can’t get enough of playing their classics in the UK! The Deftones are returning after rocking out at Download last year and blowing the roof of a packed Wembley Arena. They will return in May 2017 and will cover three dates in total in the UK at London Alexandra Palace, Manchester O2 Apollo and Glasgow SECC! May just cannot come soon enough!
Galactic Empire (December 2016)
But with all these big names being months or half-a-year away, we thought something a little sooner and closer to home would be the best way to conclude our list of 2017 rock and metal tours. Is there anything better to brighten up a listicle that a heavy metal Star Wars tribute band? With Darth Vader on lead guitar and Boba Fett on drums, this band becomes the pinnacle of geekery and metal combined. The band is performing across the whole of December in a huge number of venues across the UK in what promises to be awesome performances of heavy sci-fi madness!
