But why June? Well, June is recognised as Pride Month throughout the world in homage to the Stonewall Riots, which took place in June of 1969, in New York. These historic riots marked a turning point for LGBTQ rights and helped bring widespread awareness to the issues faced by the queer community. We celebrate Pride Month to commemorate all of that history and to celebrate the wins, as well as shed light on all the work that still needs to be done. But more than anything else, Pride Month celebrates love and acceptance. That’s why the most important style tip we’ve got is color.
