Formed back in 2009, WATIC came out of Poughkeepsie in New York and have inspired a great range of We Are The In Crowd merch, thanks to their awesome pop punk sounds which were first heard after their debut EP ‘Guaranteed To Disagree’ was released under Hopeless Records in June 2010.
The band followed up their EP release with their first full length album entitled ‘Best Intentions’ in 2011, which debuted at number 122 on the US Billboard 200, giving rise to many more pieces of We Are The In Crowd merch aimed at fans who really wanted to show off their love for the band.
The story of how the band came to sign for the Hopeless Records label is quite an interesting one, and without it there may not have been any We Are The In Crowd merch today. In 2009, the band’s MySpace page was allegedly ‘hacked’ by an ex-member, who supposedly deleted all of their friends and music that they had posted on the site. Once the story of the alleged incident had come to light, someone from Hopeless Records contacted the band and the rest, as they say, is history.
The group originally signed to their label with the name ‘The In Crowd’, however they had to change it to the current format after an clash of trademark with a reggae band also known as The In Crowd. This hasn’t stopped We Are The In Crowd merch or the band themselves becoming hugely successful though, leaving us to ponder how much a name really does matter if you’ve got talent.
