HOW TO USE HAIR DYE
To get the best out of Hair dye, follow these three simple steps:
Wash your hair with shampoo and towel dry.
Apply your hair dye, spreading evenly over your hair.
Remember to wear gloves! Leave for 15-30 minutes (refer to instructions) and then rinse until the water runs clear.
PERFORM A STRAND TEST
To make sure your new colour suits you, perform a strand test. This will help you avoid the embarrassment of colourful hair that doesnít look quite right. Make sure you wear gloves during the process
Choose a small section of hair (preferably a part of your hair not usually visible, like behind your ears).
Apply a tablespoon of dye to the strand sample whilst wet and make sure an even coat is applied.
Allow the dye to soak into your hair for approximately 15 minutes. If your hair particularly thick, soak for 30 minutes.
Rinse all the excess dye out with cold water to reveal your newly coloured hair.
View the results and see if the colour suits your personality and complexion!
PERFORM A SENSITIVITY TEST
Test you donít have an allergic reaction to hair dye following these simple steps:
Clean a small area of skin in a discreet location, such as on the inside of your arm or behind your ears.
Apply a small drop of dye onto the skin and leave it there for as long as possible Ė preferably over 48 hours.
Check for a reaction such as itchiness, redness or swelling. If no reaction occurs, feel free to use hair dye to your heartís content!
HOW TO MAKE HAIR DYE LAST LONGER

Avoid dandruff shampoo
altogether if possible, or opt for a colour friendly or sulphate-free alternative.
Rinse your hair with cold water
after shampooing to seal in colour. Use colour friendly conditioners too.
Wash your hair as little as possible.
Semi-permanent hair dye loses its vibrancy with every wash.

Donít go swimming

HOW TO REMOVE OR FADE HAIR DYE
If youíre no longer a fan of your hair colour or wish to change it, speed up the process by following these tips:
Wash your hair as much as possible
to speed up the colour fading.
Use anti dandruff or shampoo
for greasy hair, as their extra strong cleaning properties helps to remove colour.
Wash with hot water
to open up the hair follicles, making dye removal easier.
Go to a hair salon
and have the colour professionally removed (this may not be the cheapest option!).
REMOVING DYE FROM SKIN
Should you accidently get some dye on your skin, thereís no need to panic. Take these steps to reduce the problem:
Dab some alcohol-soaked cotton wool
to rub around the affected area, most likely your hands or hairline.
Create a makeshift paste using toothpaste
, soap and water and rub it onto the affected area with a cotton bud.
Apply a bicarbonate of soda solution
to the stained skin and rub in gently.
