As a bunch of people who love our alternative music, we here at Blue Banana are pleased to announce that we’ve got a special treat for those of you near our Birmingham store. On Sunday 10th February, Asking Alexandria will be doing an exclusive and very special signing in our Birmingham store at 4pm.

Due to the huge demand we’re expecting, we’ve made this a lanyard event, and you’ll need to collect yours from the Birmingham store of Blue Banana prior to the day of the signing. Remember, there are only 100 lanyards available and they will be given out on a first-come-first-served basis.

We’re giving you a chance to get your hands on some special merchandise too, because if you buy any Ben Bruce clothing on the day of the signing, you’ll get a personal photo and autograph absolutely free – you can’t say better than that!

If you’re not too familiar with Asking Alexandria, let us fill you in! Composed of five members, the group was founded back in 2008 by lead guitarist Ben Bruce, who returned to the UK from Dubai where he had already formed and released an album with different members under the same name.

The current members of the band recorded their debut album in May and June of 2009, after they had spent 2008 and the first half of 2009 touring. Shortly after finishing the record they signed with Sumerian Records, releasing Stand Up and Scream in September 2009. Later that year, the band announced they would start work on their second album in January 2010.

The British metalcore band released their second studio album, entitled Reckless & Relentless, in April 2011, gaining mostly positive reviews from music critics around the world, selling more than 30,000 copies in its first week, debuting at number nine on the Billboard 200 in the United States. The album also hit the top five slots of the Billboard Rock Albums, Hard Rock Albums and Independent Album charts.

Asking Alexandria are planning a 2013 release and although no official album title has been released, that’s not putting off fans from flocking to their shows throughout January and February, when the band end a European tour in Birmingham on the 10th and Manchester on the 11th. If you’d like to pop down to the Birmingham store at any point (remembering the signing is a lanyard event), you can find the Birmingham store details right here on BlueBanana.com and you can take a look at all of our Asking Alexandria merchandise right here too!
