Hevy Fest

Hevy Fest

O2 Academy Brixton, London
3rd August 2013

Festival Information
Created as a rock festival, the Hevy fest is still relatively young in terms of a music festival, as it was only created in 2009. Starting out as a one day music festival, it soon turned into a weekend event with the return of Hevy in 2010. After the move from Folkestone seafront to Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, space for tents and entertainment was readily available.

With an array of music from rock to metal at Hevy fest, this hardcore festival is perfect for any fan of hardcore rock. Previous headliners have included Feeder, Gary Numan, Gallows and The Subways. With four stages full with acts, you know that there will be at least one band that you will be dying to see. On such a huge site at Hevy fest you can expect to see more than just great rock acts; you’ll be able to experience thrill rides and extreme sports.

If you want a break from the heavy rock at Hevy fest, have an electrifying time on either Chaos or Superstar, or even watch in fear at the daredevil on his motorbike. With food onsite ready to be eaten there’s no need to bring any snacks as Hevy have it all on their stalls. Enjoy the freedom of being in your own world of music and leave the parents behind as you play all weekend at the Hevy Music Festival.

Although the Hevy fest music festival is still in its early days, it has had successful years of experience. So, in an attempt to try and give you a better insight into what this festival is really like, we’ve enclosed some information on the previous events. If you attended either of these festivals you’ll be able to reminisce with us now and relive the awesome memories. If you weren’t fortunate enough to go to Hevy fest last year or the year before, then take a look at the line ups to see what you’ve been missing out on.

Back in 2009 the Hevy fest made its debut and saw the introduction of some fantastic acts onto the stages. There were only three stages to begin with; the Main Stage, Second Stage and Third Stage. Some of the most well known and most talked about acts were; We Are The Ocean, Cancer Bats, Sonic Boom Six, The Blackout and Gary Numan. The highlights of the day were none other than rock star headliners, Ash and Feeder. Attendees experienced a day full of rock and fantastic performances and loved what was on offer at Hevy fest, right on Folkestone seafront.

With the 2012 edition over and done with, 2013 is back and it’s bigger and better than ever with a new location at the Brixton O2 Academy in London. Still a small yet tidy music event, Hevy fest music festival provides rock bands to a niche audience. With bands to get your heads banging and have you shredding an air guitar, Hevy knows how to pull off an exhilarating weekend. Set to have you marking this festival weekend onto your calendar, head to Hevy fest this summer for the time of your life.

Hevy Fest: Venues

Due to the change of venue in 2013 there will only be two venues on offer for the bands; the O2 Academy in Brixton and The Borderline on the 3rd for an intimate gig with Horse The Band. This prevents the dreaded choice that standard festivals force upon you where you must choose between two of your favourite bands performing at the same time on different stages!

O2 Academy Brixton - Known for it's unbeatable acoustics and clever seating layout that ensures great views, Hevy Fest has picked a great location for 2013. With a popular bar on sight, this venue offers a place to hang out when the music is done; isn't that what all great festival needs. It's central location and giant stage is all the reason you need to head to this festival; oh yeah and immense bands are going to be there! From Killswitch Engage to Hatebreed, bands have travelled far and wide to give you exactly what you’re after and we’re sure you’ll find it here at Hevy fest.

The Borderline - Located in London, The Borderline is one of the UK's most popular music bars. Playing host to a whole range of genres, this club has managed to become one of the most desirable venues for some of today's biggest up and coming artists. On August the 3rd, The Borderline will be teaming up with Hevy Fest to offer a UK exclusive performance from Horse The Band, perfectly igniting the excitement for the full event the day after.

The event begins with an intimate Horse The Band gig on August 3rd and finishes with the main event on August 4th and this festival is another nice and easy one as it keeps things simple in terms of Hevy Fest tickets types.

It is possible to buy Hevy Fest tickets at the gate of the festival from the box office. We also advise checking the official festival website regularly for any updates and more information on ticket releases and sales.

Hevy Fest Tickets: The Different Types Available

Unfortunately this is an event for over 14s only and so if you are not over this age limit you will be unable to attend the festival, even if you manage to get your hands on Hevy Fest tickets.

Hevy Fest Tickets: Where To Purchase

The best place to get your Hevy Fest tickets is from the actual festival website. If you are not successful with this then we suggest looking around for other well known ticket outlets. Some suggestions are as follows; Viagogo, See Tickets, Ticketmaster, Ticketline, Ticketweb, etc.

The Hevy Music festival releases and sells most Hevy Fest tickets fairly quickly and so we strongly encourage you to check out Viagogo the site where fan to fan ticket exchange is possible. If you missed out on your chance to get a ticket, the likelihood of one being available through Viagogo is incredibly high. You may have to pay a little more than the standard price but it is a guaranteed official ticket and will be much cheaper than eBay!

Take great care when purchasing your Hevy Fest tickets to ensure that you’re getting the real deal. Avoid any smaller, less well known companies as these may not be legitimate and it’s not worth the risk. If you do happen to purchase an unofficial ticket you will be denied entry into the festival. Tickets should be sent and received up to one week before the event, if you still haven’t received your ticket at this point, please contact the company you bought your ticket from.

Hevy Fest Tickets: Opening Times

The Hevy Music festival doors open on Sunday 4th August at 14:00 and remains open until the curfew at 22:30. Hevy Fest tickets will be checked at the festival gates to ensure you do have a ticket and you will only be allowed access if you can provide one. Unlike previous years, if you decide to leave the site at all you will be allowed re-entry, everything you require will be available on site.

Areas and Locations

  • Campsite - The campsite is located near to the Port Lympne Wild Animal Park and so we ask that you respect the animals and the environment by taking care of the area. There will be plenty of rubbish bins situated all over the campsite and festival site, so we politely ask you to clean up after yourselves. We ask that you refrain from making any open fires or naked flames once on the site for obvious safety reasons. There is a designated area for campers to use their disposable BBQs and we suggest that you only use them in that area, unless you wish to be kicked out of the festival. There will be a recycling point at the exit of the camp for you to leave any unwanted camping equipment behind. Please don’t just leave it on your pitch as it takes the stewards and organisers long enough to clean up after the festival.

  • Main Arena - The Hevy Music festival is proud to present some of the best hard-core rock acts out there. The main arena consists of four main stages and areas. The Main Stage will see some of the best rock and roll headliners of the year perform awesome sets and change the moods of every member of the crowd. Another stage is the Rock Sound Stage where some of the most awesome rock bands and acts will perform; if you think you can handle it make sure you check it out.
