Ear tapers can be worn for a short period of time to ensure that the ear has stretched to the desired size and after that other jewellery can be put in place. Also these piercing tapers are helpful for putting in other jewellery as they make a large enough shape for you to slip the piercing through. This is done by placing the small side through your piercing hole and holding the jewellery up to the larger side and pushing it through. Ensure that the taper is lubricated with a water based lubricant that won't affect your skin. Whether it is for permanent wear or just for stretching, these tapers are very popular especially on the alternative fashion scene and work brilliantly for stretching.
