Age Restrictions for Piercings

In the UK, piercing age restrictions are often down to the individual piercer or store. It is illegal for children aged under 16 to have their nipples or genitals pierced and local councils can enforce age restrictions on body piercings carried out in their area but outside of these restrictions everything else is completely voluntary. Blue Banana is a popular choice for piercings in the UK, especially amongst young people in the alternative scene, and as such we have created our own guidelines for when we feel certain piercings are appropriate. With many piercings, our guidelines allow you to achieve them at a younger age if you have parental consent and we will always request proof of your age so always come with a passport, driving licence, NUS card etc.

All our age restrictions for piercings are to protect both our customers and our piercers, enabling the best environment for awesome body modification. We advise that our customers don’t get piercings that will be disliked by their schools and always seek out your parent’s permission if you are still a minor. Blue Banana piercings are always done with the best piercers, the best equipment and because we restrict the ages of people coming to us for body modification, it also protects our younger clients. Whilst piercing in the UK is still largely unregulated when it comes to age restrictions on piercings, Blue Banana aims to be responsible and give advice wherever necessary. Please bear in mind that whilst we do endeavour to vigilantly police our age restrictions, occasionally a fake ID or mature looking young person will slip through and we cannot accept responsibility for this.
