Brian Ewing - Tattoo Artist

The tattoo work of Brian Ewing is something that has gained him worldwide recognition and a place as a member of Sullen Clothing’s limited edition design team.  However, it is wrong to merely pigeon hole Ewing as a tattoo artist; he is much more than that and has developed into one of the most sought after modern artists in the world.  His technique is so wide ranging and inspiring that he is always in demand, whether it is by rock bands, fashion brands or the Sullen Art Collective.  His natural talent and ability to create iconic images has seen Brian Ewing emerge from the tattoo scene into the mainstream.

Born in California, tattoo designs weren’t always at the forefront of Brian Ewing’s mind.  In fact, after attending art school he ended up working for Hustler magazine, performing menial jobs such as organising schedules for shoots.  After quitting to become a freelance artist, Ewing’s career really took off as he became inspired and found his own personal style.  Influenced by his upbringing on the west coast and his current location of New York, he started to design tattoos, posters and other artwork.  As well as joining Sullen Clothing and designing t shirts and hoodies for them, he has worked for numerous large corporations and bands around the world.  It is without doubt Brian Ewing’s tattoo beginnings and unique style that have attracted these people to him.

It is no surprise that someone with Brian Ewing’s considerable talent has joined the Sullen Art Collective and created unique tattoo designs.  His designs on t shirts and hoodies have been extremely popular for Sullen and they have always been snapped up when they are released.  It is the artist’s fusion of American youth culture, colour and space that really make his designs stand out, something that has encouraged companies as diverse as DC Comics, Samsung and Playboy to use his services.  With such unique talent, spanning everything from tattoo to pop art, we’re sure to be seeing more of Brian Ewing soon.
