A medusa piercing is often seen as a mirror reflection of the labret
piercing, whereby the philtrum is pierced below the nose, allowing for
body jewellery to sit in the area above the top lip. Also known as a
philtrum piercing, this is both a lip piercing and an oral piercing,
meaning that it requires twice as much care an attention as a cartilage
or flesh piercing.
