A stupendous success, Twilight has brought vampires back into the lime light thanks to its gripping series of novels and block buster movies. Creating characters that have now become so well known that even people are aren’t fans of the series know of such terms as "Team Edward” and "Team Jacob”, Stephanie Meyer has created one of the most popular saga’s in recent years. Telling of a love story between a vampire and a young girl, this involving story has captured the hearts of millions of young women, developing the idea of a vampire in very much the same way as Anne Rice did in the 80’s. Turning a blood sucking vampire into a sympathetic creature is no easy feat but the Twilight saga has been embraced by fans as an excellent tale of romance, and of vampires. This is why it’s not surprise that Twilight movie merch has been produced to such an extent, as well as other products from the novel series. These products include items such as:

The true measure of Twilight products is impossible to say, considering the immense popularity of the Twilight saga. Whilst official merchandise is limited, companies have produced their own ranges of products such as printed t shirts and trying to be a part of this immense movement. A unique aspect of Twilight is that the love triangle that is so important in the latter films and books has become a badge of honour for fans. Naming themselves "Team Edward” or "Team Jacob” depending on which character they feel the protagonist should end up with romantically, fans proudly announce this allegiance with t shirts and accessories, many of which simply state "Team Edward” or "Team Jacob”.

The Twilight saga film series also creates clothing and accessories inspired by the film itself, most frequently the jewellery that characters wear. The Cullen coat of arms in particular has become a popular accessory for men and women alike and the jewellery that the female vampires wear has been reproduced so that every young woman can feel part of the story. The contrasting character backgrounds, from old English vampires to Native American werewolves has allowed the range of products produced to be immense and the product versatility to be huge. Appealing to a huge market of fans, Twilight and its merch are certain to be around long after the movie series has been completed.
